7 unique wedding favors to give your guests

To give or not to give… And if yes, WHAT?

Alright, let’s talk about wedding favors. If you’re considering giving out wedding favors at your wedding, you may be thinking, “what do I give my guests?” A lot of couples who plan destination weddings and end up giving wedding favors want to give gifts from the location they are getting married. We absolutely love the idea of doing this- give your guests a little bit of the culture they experienced during your wedding weekend to bring home to them. It’s a truly great way to give your guests something unique to remember your wedding. But what can you give them? What would be unique and local but will also be something your guests will want to hold onto?

If any of this is resonating with you, we’ve got a few ideas that were hits with some of our past couples.

1. Miniature tequila bottles and shot glasses

What goes hand-in-hand with Mexico in most people’s minds? Yep, tequila. Why not give your guests a little token of what Mexico is known well for by giving them mini tequila bottles and hand-crafted shot glasses like these? These shot glasses are as unique as they are beautiful and will be sure to stir up memories (or perhaps the lack thereof, amiright?!) of your celebration for years to come!

2. Customized coasters that can double as escort cards

You already have to let your guests know where they will be sitting, so why not take advantage of this and have the escort cards double as their wedding favor? The personalized aspect of this coupled with some traditional Mexican art will make this gift one your guests will love.

3. Luggage tags can also double as escort cards

Since you’re having a destination wedding, why not lean into this theme a little bit for the wedding favor? You can use the same idea behind the coasters and use the luggage tags as your guests’ escort cards. You could place each luggage tag at your guest’s spots at your reception, or you could place them on a board where guests grab them and go as they walk in. Or you could skip those ideas altogether and have them waiting for guests as they exit. Regardless, this will make your guests think of you and your wedding weekend every time they pull their suitcase out to travel.

4. Local candy

Who doesn’t love a little late-night sweet treat after a few hours of showing your moves on the dance floor, right? Give your guests a goodie bag from a local vendor that can do sweet or spicy! They’ll be thanking you on their walk back to their room, trust us.

5. Reusable water bottles

Help your guests stay hydrated during their stay by welcoming and gifting them personalized, reusable water bottles! This will be something they can use during your wedding weekend and every day after that!

6. Fans

We all know that it can get quite warm in tropical areas, especially if the breeze isn’t particularly strong that day, so why not give your guests something they’ll use and that will help cool them down? Give them to them early in their hotel rooms or lay them in the chairs at your ceremony.

7.      Maracas

Another true-to-culture gift is a maraca. These can be customized with each guest’s name or details from your wedding weekend (i.e., the date, location, etc.). These are a fun memento, especially for kids or people with kids.

Whatever you choose, your guests will love it because it’s something you picked out specifically for your weekend.
